Gaianotes Enamel Color GE-54 - Oil

The oil color flows beautifully into recesses without staining the surrounding surface, and it wipes off clean with a cotton swab. Dries to a subtle, grimy finish that looks perfect for weathering a mobile suit.

The wood chips mixed into the other colors give a nice gritty texture, but the oil version is my go-to for a smooth, even grime layer. It settles into panel lines perfectly and wipes off clean with a bit of thinner.

The GE-54 oil shade sits nicely as a grime wash over lighter panels, though it lacks the textured wood chip effect the other colors have. It flows well into recesses without leaving weird splotches, which is what I wanted for a subtle weathered look. Dries reasonably fast, too.
