054 - This is a pigment-based clear fresh for use with surfacer-less paint.

What is surfacer-less painting?
Resin kits vary from kit to kit, but most are made with a beige base color. Safless painting is a method of painting that makes the most of that base color. Safless means without a primer. Safless painting is a painting method that makes the most of the beige base without applying a primer, and creates a three-dimensional effect by adding shadows.

Since the skin color varies depending on the character, I think it's best to create the color by subtly mixing colors. You can also thin it with clear paint. If it feels too dark, add some clear paint. Rather than painting a dark color straight away, you can create a subtle three-dimensional effect by layering thin layers of light colors.

Swapped to this after fighting with primer bubbles on a resin kit, and the pigment base means I can skip the surfacer step entirely. It lays down smooth and even, and the flesh tone is exactly what I needed for bare beige parts.

The pigment base blends seamlessly with the beige resin, and the flesh pink tone looks incredibly natural once cured. I’ve used it on two kits now and the coverage is even every time. It’s become my go-to for surfacer-less work.

Took a chance on this for my resin kits, and the pigment-based clear really does what it says — the flesh pink tone blends right into the beige base without needing a separate surfacer layer. Saves me a full step in prep, which is huge when I'm batch-painting.
