This is a Gaia Color thinner with a retarder added.
Adding a retarder slows down the drying time of the paint, suppressing whitening when using an airbrush and allowing for clean, even brush strokes when applying with a brush.
The slow drying time also helps the paint spread evenly and enhances the gloss.
Add more retarder as needed.
Volume: 1000mL
After wrecking two brush jobs last month with paint that dried mid-stroke, this retarder blend has been a game changer. The 1000mL bottle is massive for the price, and it keeps that milky wet edge just long enough for smooth, even strokes.
The slower drying time is a lifesaver for airbrushing—no more chalky patches even on humid days. I’ve been using it for fine line work and the finish stays glossy and even, which was exactly what I needed.
The retarder really makes a difference—airbrushing with this thinner kept the paint from drying on the needle tip, and I didn't see any whitening even on humid days. Brush strokes lay down smooth and even, so I've stopped mixing my own additives.
