More than 100 package illustrations are included!

The "Super Dimension Fortress Macross", a milestone in science fiction anime, celebrated its 40th anniversary since its first broadcast in 1982.

Its popularity began with the development of a wide variety of plastic models that reproduced the unique mechanics of the series!

The plastic model package art that captured the hearts of boys at the time was created by Yoshiyuki Takani and Artmic.

The illustrations still attract many fans today.

These package art illustrations have been fully reproduced using high-definition printing technology!

The shading and staining on the Valkyrie, Destroyed, and Regard, as well as the artist's brushstrokes, are now vividly reproduced.

Box images of plastic models are also included as much as possible.

The box art of the Valkyrie, Destroid, and Zentraedi army mecha are also introduced, as well as the setting drawings that were used as materials for the box art.

Interviews with Kazutaka Miyatake, designer of the SDF-1 Macross, and Shoji Kawamori, designer of the VF-1 Valkyrie, are also included, as well as a conversation between Yoshiyuki Takani, one of Japan's leading box art artists, and Kazutaka Miyatake.

The interview was conducted by Hideki Tenjin!

Edward ★★★★★

The sheer volume here is the selling point—over 100 package illustrations spanning the show's history. Flipping through, it's a time capsule of that pop art style, every page bringing back the feeling of those original LPs and laserdiscs. A must-have for any Macross fan's shelf.

Ellie ★★★★★

Bought this mostly for nostalgia, but the sheer volume of packaging art is honestly impressive for the price. Flipping through, I was surprised how many different LP and laserdisc designs I'd completely forgotten about. It’s a solid time capsule for any 40th-anniversary fan.

Joseph ★★★★★

Over 100 package illustrations crammed into one book, and the print quality is so sharp you can see the original airbrush details up close. I've spent an hour just staring at the 1982 TV series covers alone, and the nostalgia hit is real. Only wish it was a bit larger for coffee-table display, but t
