Monthly Magazine Hobby Japan 2025.11

The spread on the Yamato broadcast history alone is worth the cover price, and the print quality makes the old cel art feel like it's glowing off the page. I've already flipped through it twice since it landed in my mailbox.

The deep dive on the 1974 broadcast and its impact on anime history is exactly what I hoped for, and the layout makes it easy to flip between the retro stills and the new analysis. Took me a whole evening to get through, but every page felt worth it.

Got through the Yamato retrospective in one sitting and honestly the archival stills from the 1974 broadcast are sharper than I expected for a magazine reprint. The way it breaks down the animation history behind the series makes it a keeper for any older fan.
