The round brush holds a nice point for fine detail work while the flat one lays down base coats smoothly, and having both in one set saved me from buying them separately. Been using them on miniatures for a couple weeks now and the bristles haven't frayed at all.
Picked this up as a total beginner and the flat brush surprised me — it lays down paint smoothly with barely any streaks on my first try. Having just the round and flat brush covered everything I needed for a small figure, no extra tools required.
The round brush holds a fine tip way better than I expected for detail work on small miniatures. Having both a flat and a round brush in one set means I stopped digging through my drawer mid-project.
